Umm. .... I'm not sure if these folks are aware of that ...... I'll feel safe in assuming that they know I borrowed one of their Trucks last Sat evening and took it for a test spin out to Sacramento and San Francisco, Salinas then to Landover and back to the yard here in the Kackalackies if they put a check in the account next Friday. I hope they do that because I'm getting ready to borrow a different one tomorrow night and take it to LA for a Tuesday morning appointment. This one is one of those things with a ...... horror of horrors ! Automatic transmission travesties. ..... I hadn't ever sat in one until a minute ago when I moved it across the yard. 186k on it so far, so it might be broken in by now. We'll see. I might even take a Box with me this turn. Last time I only took one of the other Drivers. They were a little bit miffed that I didn't have a refrigerated Box with me to put the strawberries into on the way back. They were yelling a little about the price of fuel. They demanded to know what I did with the load of chicken pieces I was assigned to take out there. They finally calmed down when I explained that I tied it to the roof and the customer signed for it. I did the same thing with the strawberries on the way back. The next customer signed too. Might have huffed around about temp control but they got over it. I guess. I'll take a Box this week just to get some peace and quiet for a couple of days. The little things that they make such a Big Deal about almost made me wonder if I was making a wise decision coming back over here again. ...... But it was more entertaining than hanging out around that cardboard box I call home, so there's that going for it. Plus I could use the fuel card once a day and get a buck or two off it and trade those things in for something more useful ...... like food or drink or Fire material. Just in case the cab of the Truck got too cold from the Air conditioning. Set a package or two of the emergency Fire material ablaze in the cab floor and dance around the fire hooping and hollering at the Fire god the Old Ones called Chief Marlboro. ...... Or take a small stick around with you on fire to prove that you haven't forgotten the Old Ways so the Chief won't forget to bring the Heat to you if you need it.
