I have heard that some drivers will blow the airhorn to wake people up so they will leave and there will be a parking space available.

Nice, when I am getting ready to leave, I will usually key up the CB and ask if anyone needs a spot, and if I get a taker, I just wait for them to come around and then pull out.

How about a cattle truck pulling in next to you? You not only get the noise, you get the smell. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago. It sounded like a stampede next to me along with the smell. So much for the last couple of hours of sleep.

Dont you just want to take the drivers who blast the air horn in the middle of the night and tie him to your truck and drag him around the truck stop a few times,, would be fun but then you might go to jail, i hate those idiots who think its cute to wake everyone up like that.

I laid on the horn once in the fuel island at around 2 am. The horn had one of those ropes to pull and I had been driving with the window open a little. It was windy and I guess when I closed the window it grabbed the rope. So when I pulled into the fuel island and opened the door the horn starts going. It was only for a second or two but I felt like an ###.

Well what can you say, the good ole days of truckin are gone. Their is a new breed of truck driver out there and they are a worthless bunch of ####. They can't drive, they can't back up, they can't park, they are inconsiderate, illiterate, uneducated, and down right ignorant! (You know who you are: You are the ones blowing an air horn in a truck stop, using your jake brakes cause you think it's cool, and talking #### on a c.b. radio thinking you are billy big riggers) This is why drivers don't like you, and the entire population thinks you are an #######. It is also why the wiser older drivers use a truck stop simply for fuel, a bite to eat, and a shower, then we go park somewhere else. Trick of the trade: In all your travels around the country, keep a little book and record these places you happen across or find which are trucker friendly; have good parking, places you can eat and shop at, etc; and after a short while you too will have nice safe locations where you can live a whole lot better as a trucker and you wont have to put up with the moron drivers like the ones we are complaining about in here. God Bless, and good luck to those of you who do not fit into the above mentioned catagories of bad truckers.

At the Pilot in Minooka, IL. It took a driver 40-45 minutes to back in to a parking spot. 3 people helping him, they got cold and 3 more came out to help him. He wouldn't listen. After he got done, and it was 9:30 at night we all blew our air horns while he was outside looking at his parking job. Yeah, we woke people up. They got on the CB and asked what's going on.
Most of us were stuck up there a couple of days waiting for loads. Good people to be with, no jerks on the CB, just good talking all day and night. That's very, very rare.

I turn the radio on tonight and all I hear is 8ball, trying to sell drugs. Where am I?
