Or even better the State's rehabilitation board. There is a office where workers are sent to training free if it is appropriate to do so.
My state generously examined what skills I had left when I failed to be medically able to continue trucking, my primary livelhood. They ended up either wanting to have me learn river navigation for barge work or send me to college to learn IT.
They sent me to college a few years at their expense. I paid the third year on my own with our money as I discovered limitations to what I liked and don't like in IT. Ultimately it was a very good effort.
Thinking back I should have gone to river school for a year. That would have been a very profitable work worth doing. They pay some of those people in that line of work very very good money. Im sorry I missed out on it.
Memphis help please.

400K aint bad. But when you approach a million plus, your attention span and intensity tends to increase exponentially.
One of the biggest hauls ever was the morning of 9-11 when Detroit stuffed us full for Linfield CT to the 12th delivery 13th in the am, essentially when we get there. I would imagine they needed ALL of it ASAP in that trailer. To this day I don't know what was on it. All the bills stated was simply private company move. Essentially McKesson to McKesson with drugs they own and probably leased us or bought us for that move on paper. In other words they probably owned us too.
I know a trucking company can fill a trailer with stuff and drive to another company yard and deliver there without much of anything on the bills as a private move. Ive done a few of those. The one big thing is those are not particular in a hurry. It will get there when it gets there. Useful for when recaps are short.BUMBACLADWAR, NavigatorWife and Wisbowmen Thank this. -
Contact Werner and ask about their EST program. It's free of charge, no commitment. I was iffy of it myself but I'm in it now and impressed. You will be in a class with veterans, my class is 5 people. It's a accelerated class, 2 weeks long. Werner makes you sign a pledge but that's it, it's not a legal contract I even had a attorney look at it, it's basically just a mutual agreement between you and Werner saying that you will atleat attempt to work for them. They pay for your dot physical which will be done in your home town, you are required to obtain a CDL permit before going to the school. Hotel is free and your have your own room. The 3 instructors are pretty cool. The head honcho of the entire school is a former phili eagles football player. If you would like, I can email you the pledge that they ask you to sign so you can look at it. I'm personally impressed. This is at the Roadmaster school out side of Memphis.

We have decided on a school. Will be starting Monday.
Thanks everyone for your advice. -
If you don't know what/where you want to work just go for a Mega and figure it out when you get there, IMO.
If you have that Unicorn job already lined uo that you want, then a dedicated school is probably better.Wisbowmen Thanks this. -

Passed drug test and dot physical today. Starting school Monday.
Was told today due to our squeaky clean dmv and back grounds and because we will be team driving we should have a real shot at landing a good first company.
Either way, we are both super excited to get started!NavigatorWife Thanks this.
