Doing in cab brake test.
Pumping brake to bring air down to cause brake to activate.
It actuates at 25 psi on secondary tank.
Primary tank well below 20 at that point.

Regulations state 60 PSI or lower, you should get the warnings.
By the time you get the alarm at 30 PSI or lower, there literally isnt enough air physically present in either primary or secondary to be worth a #### once you do find you need all of it now.
Your application will pretty much go away along with the air at zero ppffth. in a few moments. If your truck has anything left at all it will be the spring brakes. Maybe. (It better.) but not on mountain ice or rain...
That truck goes into the shop today, this minute and not one inch by anyone in regular service empty or loaded anywhere until that problem is found and fixed.BUMBACLADWAR and okiedokie Thank this. -
Are you talking about on the CDL test or in practical terms?
-
The alarm should come on at around 60. The SWITCHES should pop around 40.
My question is, what temp was it outside?
The reason I ask is because I've had switches not want to pop at 40 until the truck is thoroughly warmed up.Rollr4872, Dave_in_AZ and WesternPlains Thank this. -
If memory serves me right (it usually doesn’t), the brakes must set themselves anywhere between 20-60, but idk if that is primary or seconday or either, so that sounds like a fail.

This is hypothetical. Close, but not real. Just looking for understanding.SingingWolf Thanks this. -
CVSA says minimum 20 psi (maximum low?) for TPV.
SingingWolf, Bean Jr., wore out and 2 others Thank this. -
warning bell has to come on at 60 psi the red trailer should pop at 40 psi tractor useually around 25 .... if any of those ain't happening you have to take it in ..... I think it sounds like you are doing a static brake check like a dot officer would do and those are the numbers they are looking for and it fails for them you are getting towed and a nice little ticket
SingingWolf, wore out and Coover Thank this. -
wore out Thanks this.
