Well I definitely don't "plan" on having any more. According to my company statistics new drivers account for 75% of accidents at the company. Majority are small ones. Definitely going to be more cautious when I'm maneuvering in tight areas. But you are right.

To me it is a big deal. Hear me out and then judge. No.1 He set himself up for an “incident”. No. 2 His gut told him something was wrong and he didn’t get out to look. The end result was minor it could have had serios consequences. When some of us get old we see things differently. Driver - Learn from it. One mistake doesn’t define a person. “A” game every day all day. It seperates the best from the rest. I’ll get off my soap box now.

Yes, an officially reported incident will follow you. In this case, if this is all that follows you, most companies will shrug and hire you after you build up more and more safe driving time. Barely scraping another truck at low speed, once, is a learning experience.

Too bad the Driver was such an idiot. I had a guy hit my mirror last month. No big deal I did let him know. And I just had to ask why with all the empty pull through spots available he decided to blindside in next to me? He was apologetic saying he was very tired admitting it was a dumb thing to do.I felt bad for the old guy!!!I recalled my first year backing into a dock and took out a Yellow freight mirror.I went in apologizing. The Driver just laughed told me not to worry said as far as he’s concerned he has no idea how it got broke. As they say those were the days.I once pulled out of a spot and caught the bumper on a brand new w900 with my ICC bumper just enough to bend it straight out.I did not want to go in find the guy and give him that news.He was not very happy about it truck was 1 month old and just had new hood due to similar situation. But he thanked me for owing up to it.People make mistakes I once woke up to my hood on my western Star being ripped off. The guy clipped it a little. Then hit it again just destroying it.He couldn’t believe I wasn’t swinging a bat at him!! We went in had coffee.I asked him about his company and if there were honest with paying him. Called company took a chance and didn’t file a police report . They paid me in 7 days ended up with an extra $4000 as it turned out took a vacation and bought the wife new furniture.I guess I got lucky. But if I’m ever looking for a job I’ll consider that company Milan express honest folks

    #### that look some #### I would do!!!! Lately my depth perception has been suffering.A friend of mine a few years older has it too. If I’m not banging a dock I’m getting out to see how much room is behind me while parking what seems like a foot turns out to be 5 feet.

I agree why they shouldn’t have those there.Might as well add some tire spikes outside of the lines painted by people obviously high on drugs.

    It's all about attitude.
Op came in gave a story and added this:
This tells me that while he messed up, he knows he did something wrong.

Most of the people that get blasted have a poor attitude. From the "It's their fault I backed into them" to the "It's only a minor wreck (with 18 tires sticking in the sky) so I don't know why they fired me." To "I've had 53 'incidents' and I've learned from all of them. I'm still a great driver though!"

Don’t worry about it. Just count it as a lesson learned. These things happen. Be thankful it wasn’t worse. At least you didn’t tear somebody’s hood off, run over a car or get stuck under a low bridge.

Some serious nails in that picture. Was that the other drivers hand? The cop? A random bystander? I need more details and further pictures that show what that hand is attached to......to better paint a picture of the "incident" of course. Research purposes only.
