Same thing CRST did to me....
Not a death sentence. Hardly even a bump in the road considering you are still considered a student as you have never officially been hired by a company. Most companies will still give you a shot.
There are some companies out there that would have put something worse like "quitting under a load" or "Abandoning a load" (even though they terminated you) or "abandoning equipment" (even though *they* had you get off the truck at somewhere other than a company terminal).

The problem you are going to run in to at this point is the fact that there is an overabundance of drivers and not enough trucks / driver jobs right now. Smaller trucking companies are folding due to the economy and the larger companies can't absorb all the displaced drivers. Add to that all the new student drivers coming out of school and looking for jobs.....

If you get to hurting for a job and can't find one in the trucking industry right off....Texas Department of Criminal Justice is ALWAYS hiring. No, I am not being funny. 6 weeks of training academy (paid training), they provide housing during training if you need it. They also have openings for CDL drivers on occasion but you will still have to go through the training academy. Two schedules available- 4 days on / 4 days off (12hr days, 2 shifts available) OR 6 days on / 3 days off (8hr days, 3 shifts available). Units all over the state. Excellent benefits, paid holidays and paid vacation. State Employee Retirement System and state employee perks (like discounts on your Sprint bill...).
Just an option if you get stuck....

Good luck with O/O orientation, RT. I am still doing my six weeks of training out on the road. We were not to far from Ohio the other night and heard reports about some rigs getting blown over. Glad it wasn't you. A Yak may be hairy in winter but is VERY sure-footed :biggrin_255:!!

One of my instructors in truck driving school was the nephew of the owner of Lisa Motor Lines. They are running tight financially right now so if they can find an excuse to cull you they will. Word is that they really aren't hiring right now even though they are still taking apps.
If you want to stick with reefers then try Central or Southern. For Pete sake don't even THINK about going to England.....Every New Guy Leaves After Ninety Days....pretty true, along with some rip-off reports, both in time and money.

One thing I don't like, is if you don't get along with a trainer, for whatever the reason, and get fired while in training, it looks as if your screwed in this business! I think companies should work harder on training their trainer's and keeping in mind they can screw a person's dream of being a driver. I read where the industry will be facing a 20,000 driver loses from retirement in the next 3 to 5 years. what's your take on how I feel RT69? Also are really a blondie??
