Sounds like T/A is in bed with the Federal Government. Another way to take more money out of the drivers pockets. No wonder the companies are raising CPM pay
TA changing to all paid parking??

But I get it. Pumps, permits, rebuilds, all the infrastructure and maintenance required to pump fuel costs a good deal of money. But if you figure a typical truck stop that pumps 20,000 gallons of fuel a day at an average markup of 10 cents after applied rebates and discounts ... you do the mathLast edited: Sep 2, 2018

I was at the Haliburton yard in Valley Grove WV (TA Wheeling) last week and there were a couple of guys arguing about this on the CB. Quite humorous actually. All I have to say is if I spend hundreds on fuel I should have a place to park. Every TA I go to is always dirty, expensive and understaffed with rude employees. They're clearly a sinking ship and just like failing states in the nation they think "taxing" their patrons is a good idea. Mass exodus of taxpayers in states proves this process doesn't work and the free market will also show this by customers spending their hard earned cash elsewhere. Loves is going to really benefit from TA's business mistakes.
EDIT: I will have to say the one in Breezewood PA is always top notch but they are a rarity IMO.Last edited: Sep 3, 2018

Still seeing little plastic bags of trash left behind on the ground by truckers leaving after their 10 hour breaks. That stuff has to be picked up by someone who does not work for free. No business person is going to send out a person to pick up the trucker trash on their own dime. Simple answer is to charge ALL the truckers for parking because 10% of the truckers out there like to throw their trash on the ground.
Same philosophy with truckers who use their cell phone illegally. So look in the future for a mandate that ALL truckers will have a camera pointed at them while driving since 10% of truckers like to use their phone while driving. -

I don't think rewarding customers that actually buy fuel from ta/petro with a guaranteed parking spot through the reserve system would be considered "marketing yourself to a small group of truckers"
