Step now. Before Mercer. Step And 16 tire wide neck Cozad. I spent a lot of time in Oregon for Combined & Reeves & JR Transport,
Valley Material Transport and to many others to remember being a old guy
    My own #s 8yrs.
I drove a lot of 280” plus WB Tractors out here in the west. They were really hot out here for many years for others.
I still would rather run the west than any other place!
You can keep your East coast.
    No offense!
Running your own #s wasn’t bad but I’m a 1 man show and always have been.
I am getting too old and lazy, the paperwork/driving/being the mechanic
Is not worth the hassle anymore!
Mercer has taken a lot of Stress off of me.
1 truck 1 trailer. Fix what’s broke when I get home. Move on to what’s next.
I Learned one thing here in the 2 years I’ve been here. Mercer is a flat bed Company. 48’ Step 10’ neck does you no good here out on western board!
Just ordered a 48’ 102” MAC last week.
    Last trailer and truck.

I mainly stay in the midwest. I would love to run west more but just dont see the freight here for that. I occasionally think about taking a load to Oregon but once I look at the board and see next to nothing coming out I decide against it.

I wish there was better freight in the west. I live in spokane and would like to be home more but i give up too much money going home compared to freight in the more eastern areas.

I think they figure it in with IFTA, so if you were due a refund on IFTA, then it would get put towards your Oregon mileage tax.

I love running the West too. I ran up and down I5 for a year. Now my trucks too old for Cali. But I've settled into the Midwest, the freight and rates are better and more consistent.

    You pull van?
I've been tempted a few times on some NW freight but just hate the load scarcity out there. I've ran to Vegas and Montana a few times and Idaho about half a dozen times. Love those long East West runs!!!

How good a shape is the step in and what do you plan on doing with it?

Incorrect. Mercer covers all fuel and mileage taxes.

Edit: We may not see any money towards our plates or permits due to paying to much at the pump, however, it's still much cheaper than being on the hook for over $100 per round trip up I-5 or having to buy fuel in California. Also, Oregon isn't the only state with a mileage tax. You can add Kentucky and New Mexico. There may be one or two others, but I'm to lazy to find the IFTA tables online.

We also don't have near as many tolls this side of the country, either.
