Depends on where you heard it. False if it came from the liars lounge in some truck stop. True if it came from the internet.

It is true on a Freightliner....I haven't found it to be true with any other truck I've driven.

That is totally true. I set the cruise at 62 mph and I have a wide open truck. I like seeing fuel stretch, I like not having to get repairs, I like being at ease while on the road, I like tires to last. I can't tell you how many times I've seen trucks hauling boogie pass me. They will pass me at least 4 times on one run. Speed does not matter. Efficiency does.

I know it's true. It's called PasSmart by Detroit. I have it on my truck.

Many years ago I performed an experiment driving across Illinois on 70. I set the cruise at the speed limit (55 then). I counted only trucks that passed me as the limit was 65 for cars. I got passed 219 times by trucks in roughly three hours or so that it takes to cross the state. I never had to brake, I never had to turn the cruise off, I never had to move over for slower trucks or cars.. and I got passed three times by the same 3 trucks... and still beat them across the state.. the passed me again when I was in MO..

I drove an ungoverned truck for awhile and all the way across Tennessee and Arkansas, I kept passing the same Roadway truck, over and over. It was the same truck because I recognized the driver and he always looked over at me like I was an idiot.
