I drive our KW's occasionally. The Cummins is nice, but everything else is an aggravation. No overhead storage for anything larger than a pack of gum, and I hate the Bendix collision mitigation system. It reads speed limit signs and will beep at you and try to brake if you're over. This is especially annoying in construction zones with lower speed limits only when the flashers are on. Still better than a Volvo, though.

    Fuelinmyveins and Mike2633 Thank this.

Not sure how yours works, but ours only dethrottles the engine for 1 second if you pass a sign on the pedal. Doesn’t do it on cruise.

What’s funny is when you’re on the freeway and it reads a lower speed sign on the frontage road. What ISN’T funny is when the stupid thing will pick up something when there’s nothing there and lock the brakes.

What’s your following distance set at?

I think our Volvo's at GFS are close to $100,000.00 dollars now and we don't have any of the fancy gizmo's yet, yet. They say there coming in 2019. 2018 was last year of the stick shifts GFS is going automatic in 2019. I bet that Kenworth probably because it's FedEx and they have buying power is probably $80-$100K.

The new volvos in my terminal have that too. The side mirror flashes yellow and beeps if you don't stay in your lane. The dash flashes red if you're riding ### or someone cuts you off to closely. They even have adjustable cruise control.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

For us at GFS we have different pay scales depending on division and job. Volume at GFS pays the least. Transit and Broadline pay the most and Chain's are comparable to Broadline, but there pay structure is a tad different, but there all pretty close to each other.

@truck_guy can tell you about McLane he works for the Food Service division of McLane which is the group that services Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, Applebee's, Ihop, BW3, and all the rest of the stuff that McLane held on to when the MBM-McLane merger took place last year. McLane didn't hold on to that many of MBMs accounts the only one's they really retained were Darden Restaurant Groups stuff, Arby's was a big MBM account here in Ohio, that went to Sygma pretty quickly once Berkshire Hathaway folded MBM into McLane.

You're companies Truck Load Division has a bunch of trailers parked at Jo-Anne Fabrics Distribution Center in Hudson, Ohio and has some tractors parked there as well. Quite a few trailers there, Jo-Ann's must be a decent sized customer of you guys.
