I always get home when I'm suppose to.
GoldDot40 Thanks this. -
OTR, regional, or local? A recurring theme for OTR drivers is having to fight for time off. Regional and local, not so much.
Which one do you do? -
I could get home on time of there were no accidents or slow downs. Wait for road service and it would screw the whole week and you would end up running "late" for the whole week, maybe miss the final load that gets you to the house...
If It's theroectically possible for you to run over to he river and through the woods then that's what they will try do do get you home just in time. But it something odd happens, good luck. -
the days i get home at 5 AM, are the normal, the 4:30 is when one stop is taken off my trailer, before i leave the d/c.
the ONE day i was home at 6, was a snowy day, and my "normal" run took me much longer, as well as my 30 minute drive home, took me an hour....
so...what is normal..??
in trucking..???
and for the record, i really do not have a dispatcher, just the supervisor, we go to the d/c, do our pre-trips, then take off.
so there is no one to "set straight"Coover and Blackshack46 Thank this. -
Most days I’m home by 8. Is that late?
Paddlewagon Thanks this. -

Home time shouldn't start untill the day after you get home...

I am never late getting home. If anything I am home a day or so early. In fact last month there was no load to get me home so they rented me a car for me to drive home and drive back after home time (about 360 miles each way).
