He made no more assumptions than you and the others did. His first statement on the topic was refuting that bs claim that the ONLY reason a guy prefers paper is because he runs illegal. Everything else was in response to the piling on every one did.

And for the record, I'm a huge proponent of elogs and imo there should be NO exemptions, every single commercial vehicle should be required to have them.

The only assumptions that can be ascertained from anything I put up in that exchange were that A) Electronic logs are more efficient in every realm except cost and B) The cost of which is hugely offset by the amount of time and resources you free up in going electronic.

I did ask what advantages paper offered over electronic. I was met with none except cost. I got variations of "because I can", "because it makes you cry", "muh paper", all of which were impertinent to what I had simply asked. That's where things went off the rails.

As far as the assumption pushed by others that anyone running paper is looking to run illegal, yeah I think that's BS too. However, it is valid. Enough people were or else we wouldn't have the mandate. That is a fact. It wasn't strictly the ATA looking to push the little guy out, or Big Data looking to get in on the trucking industry, or any other tinfoil hat nonsense. It was many facets of those things combined, but not single pieces of, that gave the mandate the traction it enjoyed. I also agree it should be an all or nothing thing, no exemptions. But we can't have nice things.

People can run what they want, I honestly don't care. People brigade a thread over one sarcastic comment of "paper guys are outlawz lulz" like you killed their dog and you're wearing it as a hat? Yeah I got problems with that.
