Got a load to western Idaho from Montana. The rates coming out of here are so stupid low it’s embarrassing. $1.40-$1.70 for a flat. One broker had a two stop tarped load going 366 miles for $600. No thanks, and I’ll gladly stay out of this area until next year.

sometimes you have to haul cheap freight just to get to where the freight pays more or just sit waiting now you are really losing money

You do realize that dry van will get rough. There isn't a shortage of dry van freight or drivers. According to what I'm hearing, don't know how true it is, the best rates are going to be loads headed to the NE or West Coast going in. I can't say for sure coming out.

1.70 all miles at the end of the year isn't going broke, or shouldn't be unless you've had more than just normal expenses, it isn't real great either though.
