Merrick Pet Care DC in Hereford, Tx.

I had appointment for 5pm at this location. I arrived at about 2:30pm. I get a call at about 1am to get a dock 3. They knock on my door to move over from dock 3 to dock 4 ( literally next one over) . I got loaded at 4am. I left at 7am. Ridiculous.

Mars Petcare, 1 Mars Rd, Clinton, OK

They scale you when you arrive, then put you by the fence to wait 5-6 hours and at the end load your trailer to the maximum.
Overweight in drive axle, 7 times reloaded teailer and still overweighted.

I have learned the hard way to avoid Pet food loads of any kind.

Like I said in a earlier post. Keep telling them No No No No. At some point they will understand. How do they understand? They refuse shipment & you leave. Or, you back it in & THEY unload it. You will be barred. But the big question begs the answer.WHY would you want to return. And if you get fired, their are way to many empty tractor seats to worry about termination. Their actions proved my point in a earlier post. If you refuse to throw or touch any of the freight tell them it is theirs to unload or refuse, 95% of the time they will take it. Think about it. Did they order a truck load of product so they could refuse it because they couldn't get you to unload it? With today's technology there should be some kind of camera inside a trailer to witness the damaged to the trailer & freight by the highly experienced fork lift driver. Smile, you are on candid camera. von.

Best place I went to sit for hours, ppg glass in Wichita Falls Tx. Never make it out under like 12 hours. Knew it going in bought some food and enjoyed a movie or two before nap and the cb radio squawking at me.

Where I work driver unloading is a big no no. The company pays all lumper fees, and I haven’t had to argue with them. I won’t work for a company that’s makes their drivers unload.

I’m sure there’s some on here that would give out the “it’s good exercise besides your too lazy!!” crap. Well, I earn my money by running the miles. I’ve been to outfits where drivers at least had to assist and those companies wouldn’t even cough up half the money for unloading.

Also what if you decide to be “SuperDriver”, and go to lift those last two heavy cases of meat, move the wrong way..and then you feel that dreaded POP in your back.... then you are out of driving, find yourself spending years of treatment, possible surgeries, rehab, huge medical bills, fighting workman’s comp boards, etc..if you’re lucky and don’t wind up in a wheelchair....that’s why some companies do not want their drivers lumping freight.

Like my post, ya nailed it. Especially about injuries, work comp, and ending your work years to early. Department of Labor stats show trucking is the 7th most deadly job you could have in America. Why put yourself @ more risk, doing a job your are poorly compensated for. Think smart. Work smart.
