I'm in transit...gotta layover in LA for a few days to get a visa. Flight from LAX leaves at 0005 on 19th.

 

Alright stupid question. I wanna drain my 3 gear boxes and put new oil in. I see the drain plug on bottom but where do I fill it back up at lol

 

It gets filled at the plug that's at the side that you remove when you check to see how full it is... you know the one you stick your finger in?

Ya, I would price it out though... Doing on your own vs Loves/speedco doing it...

I paid around $400 for a 3 box change using synthetic a few months ago at speedco... I wanna say a 5 gal bucket was $110x3= $330...

Now with the discount we get at speedco it might be pretty equal...?

I understand wanting to do it on your own though... you need that pump that goes on the bucket I'm not sure how much those cost?

 

Just did this $506 plus tax and a pump to do it on my own. Speedco is 406 guess I'll let them do it.

 

So was looking at my paper work from my oil change. She gave me the landstar discount not the mercer. So landstars discount is $30

 

The landstar discount is bigger than Mercer, but they keep 35 percent

 

Got called in for a DOT Inspection today in Wisconsin... Just a level 3 but he showed me on his computer why he pulled me in... Mercers score is 90.... 0 is the best 100 is the worst...

He said the worst categories for us is the Drivers and Hazmat...

I'm guessing speeding, lane violations, etc etc for the drivers? Pretty ridiculous...

I haul Hazmat I'm clueless as to what people are getting violations for? Maybe flatbeds with placards flying off cause the driver doesnt have holders for them???

Like they say drivers are our worst own enemies... 90 is definitely unacceptable.

I didn't get any violations... I just had my annual inspection 2 weeks ago, so I was ready if he wanted to do that LOL... Then again I better be careful what I wish for
