I think that a short, fat chick in a Cat Woman outfit would do a good job ruining it all by herself.

On the other hand, I did see one fine example of woman hood wheeling a big Pete at Exit 39 on the 40. She had an ### like a $40 cow and all her teeth.

My headlights are on until I am parked.

I pull the shades when I shut down and do not see lights from other trucks. They do not shine in to disturb me.
If a driver has all the shades open, then I do not care if my lights shine in as the driver should be expecting it.

Personally I think it is dangerous to drive around a dark lot with only marker lights to see by.

Your ok to drive around with headlights UNTIL you find a hole- When you begin to back in-Kill the lights Please- Just courteous.

And if your runnin all night for heat or AC- Leave the markers on- makes it easier for your fellow driver to back in or leave if its still dark out.

See... That is what I just do not get.
The curtains are closed when we are sleeping, so who cares about headlights?
I certainly don't, because I never see outside lights with the curtains closed.
Every truck in the truck stop could leave the headlights on 24/7 and I would never even notice until I opened it up to actually look.

    Do you?
Do you sleep with everything open, so even headlights and overhead lighting disturb your sleep?

No, But Many of us may be up in the drivers seat- We don't just park then jump into a sleeper.
That's why its courteous to keep them headlights from blinding us.

Just a practice I learned years ago-

Ive seen guys go to sleep with their headlights still on-Yep all night

Not all of us have a truck with a fancy curtain in the cab to pull. I have a simple foldout windshield cover, and the roll down sleeper curtain was gone when I bought this truck.

Turning the headlights off is simply a respect thing, no matter how another truck is setup with curtains. Trucking has changed a lot in this nearly 32 years since I got been involved in it.

@bzinger have you noticed that most of the hands out here that give you their spot, or help you in a spot. Aren't driving a truck with 1/2 the bumper missing, or side flaring on the truck flopping or fallen off? There's usually a reason the truck looks like that, and it's not always because a deer jumped out in front of them.

It's a trucker thing. So many people have come from other occupations in the last 10 years and are imprinting their 'ways' onto trucking which run counter to the old school way of doing trucking, one of which is to turn of the headlights while easing around a truckstop. Even my Swift trainer didn't understand it when I would flip the lights off as soon as we crossed into the truckstop and eased up to the fuel pumps.
