Go for it. Hell I went through orientation at one company with a 63 year old student.
He road with a trainer for 6 weeks. Then got his own truck.NightWind and Tombstone69 Thank this. -
Actually, you're relatively young for trucking. Lots of drivers start a new trucking career after retirement when they're in their 60's & 70's.

Just joking. Where is your location? Do you want private cdl school or trucking company cdl school?
If you attend private school, some companies will reimburse the tuition back to you. -
Not really, just need a whole lot more info before you go on this adventure.

I started at 55...now 64, pushing 900k miles. Took about 8 months off to kick cancer's butt... still going, will retire at 66.

Trucks have to stop more often. Sometimes you can choose places of interest and do both at the same time.
There is a place I stopped at on I 90 in South Dakota called " Home Stead ? " Mr Brown and his family homesteaded that farm. I thank you had to live there ten years and it was yours. His age stuck in my mind as he was over 50 maybe 56.
You just have to have the ability and a whole lot of want to. Maybe some folks could give some good advise on how not to be taken advantage of because you are new.Wargames, Lepton1, Just passing by and 2 others Thank this.
