    I have been listening to Rutherford's radio show and am seriously considering starting down the keto path. I definitely need to loose weight and realize this does work. I believe the options and supporting evidence are much higher today than they were back when Atkins started preaching this diet decades ago.

    I just want to say for the record. Drink lots of water. Ketogenic diets are hard on the kidneys if you dont flush them out with lots of water.

    If you already have kidney issues, ask your doc about the ketogenic diet.

    Mine did too! I've carbed out like crazy over the Christmas vacation and now my brain is slowing down and I've gained a few pounds.

    Good diet for someone with self control, the hardest part for me would be no bread or pasta. sooner or later I'd go find some all you can eat Spaghetti or Lasagna. As is I barely eat pasta or potatoes and only a sandwich worth of bread each week (approximately). I don't drink sweet tea. very little pop or candy and next to no junk food.

    It is possible to eat to much fat on keto as far as your digestion goes, especially at first. Worst case is you get something called "disaster pants" but usually just your toilet paper budget goes up cleaning up the undigested fat (sorry but no other pleasant way to describe it). This usually happens if you overdo things like bulletproof coffee or really fatty cuts of meat (brisket with the fat cap on). You can supplement with bile salts which help digest fat and a glass of water with psylium fiber really helps with your tp budget.
