I just try to play by the rules so I dont ever give anyone a reason to stop me or live with the fear that I'm doing something wrong. I guess after doing this a while you probably learn tricks of the trade but I wont even cross a state scale if my weights are a few hundred pounds over the limit. I go back to the shipper every time. To me there is no gray area. It's either okay or not okay. For me personally 2 minutes might as well be 20 hours

Now can we answer the question?
Really? Where in the law does it state that?

Here's a hint. There is no law stating that.

Hmm that's interesting. So if you leave a shipper at 80,000lbs and you park due to a snow or ice storm, you gain a 300 lbs of ice and snow. Are you saying you will wait till it's all melted off before you will cross a scale?

4mer trucker, Oxbow and Tombstone69 Thank this.

Well, you are wrong. You prolly should know your rules.

Heres a hint. Look and you will find provisions for certain criteria

With that scenario thats different. But if I'm in Florida than obviously I would get reworked. I would also factor in that the scale weight on the scale when I weighed is probably a little heavier than usual due to snow and ice as well. But if it was severe enough to cause a problem I could always go get the trailer washed to clean it off. What would you do?

As it's impossible to prove a negative, and as you flat refuse to answer the question I think we all know there is no 50 mile provision. Just do us all a favor on TTR and stop spreading lies as the new guys might actually believe you.

Have a copy of cat scale showing effort of being legal and hope the scales are reasonable. With all the holes in roads most should be knocked off quick and then all needs worrying about is ice chunks flying.

You declare All In and slap your CAT scale ticket down and tell the officer "Read 'em and weep!"
