And as you feel no need to point it out I have to again ask you to stop spreading falsehoods to TTR ... Either that or actually point to the regulations. Here's a hint, I can't find it as it's impossible to find a negative. -

Safe Haven is for HAZMAT loads and I don't think it pertains to HOS to use it.

If it was me out there trying to wrestle with a computer that records everything, down to engine idle and wheel etc..
I will be putting in 400 mile 9 hour days and park early. IF appt times become a problem then reschedule or re power. That will be my way of staying legal. Not as productive. The other workaround is team. And you can really roll it. (Not so much now with the mandatory 30 minute stop having a coffee or something)
What I dislike is that the more they try to regulate the industry they make a mess of it. Sure it's good to be safe, never to be driving tired and always parked legal at the end of the work day etc. But when you are going up against time remaining and regulations well... violations are a result.
Ive papered over way too many of them in my time once. Now I go the other way, never getting close to that coffin corner and get violated on something. We don't have time to deal with all that. Ultimately it slows the truck down.and if the payroll is below a certain amount for the 70 hour work week, there isnt any point. I'll go home and sit on the porch, let some other young un take it out. Might as well. Brave new future for them.
Fast forward to one more thought. Long before there was 9-11 we had two restrictions in Flight near DC. That of Camp David which is a hard no go and that at the white house or where the president might be that day. We flew whenever we felt like it. Today after 9-11 you have to file and ask permission before you come upstairs from the wee airport we were at, not too far from Dulles and KBWI approach. Things have changed and for me takes a little joy out of life.Tombstone69 Thanks this.
