Yes it does. You cant have one without the other. It wouldn't be considered an Exemption if it were not written because of HOS. HOS is the reason it's an EXEMPTION
HOS Violation

Ive read all 8 pages and noticed something. Why is no one discussing the fact that the OP increased his chances of a fatality by 68.3% in those two mins he went over the 11 hour rule?
We’ve all seen the studies that the NTSB, DOT and FMCSA conducted that shows it is humanly impossible to drive safely after 11 hours. There was years of research to determine the 11/10 rules, supported by the Journal of American Medicine and peer reviewed. Wait, no there wasn’t, my mistake.
OP, if you aren’t dead from a head on collision yet, please avoid driving over the 11 hour limit again, endangering us all.PoleCrusher, 1951 ford, 7-UP and 7 others Thank this. -
What I find so funny is the schools, the carrier safety depts as well as during orientation the drivers are told that if they bust a clock the Earth will stop spinning, Congress will balance the budget and all the ugly dogs will walk backward. Then when the driver gets stuck and has to go over they spend half the time looking for the FMCSA, the FBI, and the CIA along with the marshals to come to arrest them. It is funny. Drivers don't bust your clocks. Do everything you can to prevent this. However, you don't have to start worrying about being locked up with bubba if you do. Just note it and move on!
