Again you came back for what I wrote few pages back, One simple solution. Convoy.
1 driver with 5-10 autonomous trucks following him .
Nor imagine how many jobs in thet end will be lost cause of that...not just truck job, but restaurant along the route, will be way less mechanics , way less gas stations, etc

    GREAT RECESSION COMING!

No. A convoy is no protection from idiots, fools, severe system failures, or any combination of the above.

Technology is only as good as the idiots surrounding it.

Exactly.... crazy part is Amazon has probably already factored it into their bottom line, they know its going to happen but its all part of "working out the kinks" lol

I find it really hard to believe the government is ok with 80k pound trucks driving themselves down the freeway, just wait till one of those circuit boards short out and the truck is wide open throttle heading for the George Washington Bridge, or one of those 5,000 pound battery's explodes or ignites in a similar area? the idea of self driving trucks is neat concept, however mingling them side by side with regular cars isn't a good idea, they should have their own separate roads, and at that point you would be better off utilizing something more rail based either above or below ground....

If theyre as reliable as self driving cars we shouldnt have a problem

When the first truck crashes into a bus or a pre school it’ll be the end.

Did you see the indy 500 crash yesterday?

Plus, the cops need people to give tickets to.

You mean like when a car runs over a pedestrian because the engineer turned off the radar as it was applying the brakes way too often and randomly? Or the self driving car that turned into a concrete barrier because it didn't understand construction?

    That reliability?
