Just finished reading your thread!! Lol. Good info. Going to put in application for team out of Dallas today. Hope all goes well. Currently working at FedEx ground for a contractor. I saw that you guys sometimes get helped with getting sets together which is pretty cool. Here we put sets together and break everything down ourselves. If you get to a terminal to late in the day you will sit all day till they dispatch all teams the next morning. Some places like Industry or Rialto California will sit you there for two days!!! Too many drivers here and not enough freight unless you have a good dedicated.

    CorsairFanboy and IndianaMike Thank this.

Dallas has 3 Yard dogs so you'll be set . They run a lot of teams out of there. Think they have 25 or more. You'll like it here. Its laid back as long as you do your job. You may start off running wild until you get a bid but that will still be all drop and hook at meet points or terminals. Dallas is a busy terminal.

Our Pensacola terminal has a yard dog truck but no driver lol. You're welcome to use it to hook your sets. I've used it a couple times when we were running tight on ELOG. Go off duty in your truck and jump in yard dog to break and hook sets.

Hey mike. How do they know I am applying as a team? Do I need to go up to the terminal?

No I havent. But this time of year is slow. We sometimes have to go with an empty to Nashville or Birmingham to get a loaded pup. Our meet driver is told to stay home alot also. It will go til march

We still get our full pay plus 16 each for stopping at terminal. We have yet been told to stay home on our runs. But I can see where a run wild team might be slow.
