    Risk vs reward.

It is possible to make a lot of money fast in trucking. It is also very possible to lose a lot of money fast in trucking.

It is much harder to identify a quick profit scenario in real estate, but if you do anything resembling due diligence when you buy land, you rarely lose value.

Something that I suggested in another thread was that the purchase of land to start a business that supports trucking might be a good idea, depending on your market.

A trailer washout runs 30-60 dollars in most markets, and a good washout man can finish a normal washout in 10 minutes. 15 minutes including guiding the truck in and out of the wash bay.

If you buy a (properly zoned and permitted) bit of land near a big refrigerated grocery DC where the outgoing drivers will pass you on the way to the main roads, you might make a killing on washouts. There are lots of other ways to make money supporting the trucking industry too. Short and long term parking. Drop lots. Fast food with truck access. Towing. Tire services. Mechanical services. Fuel. Scales.

You are about 10 yrs behind. Even people with millions can’t get an app to catch on.

Unless you yourself can code then don’t bother.

The most popular apps worth hundreds of billions of dollars each haven’t been thought of yet.
Don’t be like that guy that wanted to close the Patent Office because he thought all the inventions were already invented.

Hey I’m right there with yah but I’d also be that guy who says your chances of success are next to zero. I was in internet marketing from about 2006 to 2012 and even then people acted like the good ol days were over. In regards to trucking how many new services do we hear about every month with millions being backed that we know won’t amount to a ####.

If you think trucking is hard just wait until you get into the web game. Just my opinion man.

I like how everybody says land, there's going to be more than a few farmers hurting around my area just over what one of the big feedlot operations has apparently been doing for the last while. I can see a few of people ending up broke and a lot having to sell land and whatever to stay afloat, just look up south dakota cattle scandal it should show up, I can't get a link to copy over.

Ouch. Sounds like larger cattle operations need a bit more oversight by lenders. Six million in debt, and missing 90% of claimed assets?

Hope they are able to track down the cattle and/or insurance will cover losses for the little guys.

Let me make it simpl for you.
In real estate its strictly on you whether you
    Succeed or fail.

With a Fleets of trucks it's not up to you.
Way too many things are out of your control.

I've never seen farm land for sale in the last 15 years that would pencil out at over 5% return. Too many people buying a dream, and ending up with a nightmare.
