^ the level of the bay has been rising for years. Annapolis city square used to flood out at high tide just a few times a year 25 years ago. Now its over 60 times a year. The Naval Academy is is raising the part of seawall on it's campus. When I lived on my boat in Baltimore harbor 20 years ago super high tide would come up to the very top of the pier now it completely covers the pier 1-2 ft deep. The water is definitly rising.

I've said this before but I'll repeat it again. The earth is warming. It has been for the last 14,000 years and will continue doing so until the next ice age long after our bones are dust. Climate changes dramatically all over the world for many reasons, but for all intensive purposes things have been stable for a very long time. If global warming had never happened, Canada and much of the northern hemisphere would be under glacial ice sheets hundreds to thousands of feet thick. Some scientists speculate on the effects increased CO2 has on climate and overall warming of the planet, but that's all it is, speculation. If people truly cared about the planet, they would stop having so many kids and creating billions of tons of trash and flushing them into our oceans.

In 20 years technology progressing as it has, there won't be any truck drivers anyway. I heard California was going to raise the speed limit in 20 years , wonder if its part of the same rumor.

If the water is rising why is property value just going up and up in places like Miami along with lenders willing to lend money on 30 year mortgages if it will just be under water eventually anyway?
What's the point of going all electric? Unless it can somehow cost less than how we do things now. If we can't make a solution for the whole world to choose the electric option (if it turns out to actually be more environmental option, making and recycling batteries, etc) then the whole idea is futile. We can't put some fossil fuel tax on other countries to incentivize the electric option. These (mostly poor) countries will now have access to relatively cheap oil. Think they care about emissions? In my mind we may as well be the ones burning it (semi-cleanly). -

There is evidence all around us showing that there used to be very deep water over the very land we inhabit. Look at deep canyons with a little trickle of a river cutting through, at one time the water up to the top of the canyons cutting the landscape. Look at the water rings along the hills in the "western' (in movie parlance) New Mexico and Arizona. This planet used to be covered in 82% water and the average temperature were well over 120 degrees with massive amounts of humidity, how do you think we had such large flora and fauna as in the dinosaurs and 100 foot diameter trees.
