A mistake like that. On someone sendond day on the road? That is all on the person doing the training.... Every Ever little thing should be doubled checked by trainer for first week ot longer untill trainee has grasp of the basics of logging on amd off duty correctly.. This is all on the trainer

I went back and did not see anything she said that would indicate it was her second day on the road.
That is what you meant by 'sendond', I presume?
    Maybe I missed it.

The faster I go the further behind I get, you know running around like a chicken with head cut off. Get into planning so that you can both be rested, this crap of he was tired and could not proceed needs to be fixed, it all should be planned with extra times for who knows what. Sometimes someone is going to get that day, does not matter how much experience, that suck is coming. relax.

Just passing by and Moosetek13 Thank this.

    I agree.

Too many drivers want to make as many miles, and money, as possible. They push and push themselves until that next 34.
Or until it is too late.

It won't. You were not cited for the HOS violation, the weigh ticket will show as a inspection that was passed on your federal, and not show at all on your CA H6.

2400 lbs over on my trailer axle cost about $240 at the Eagleville MO scale.

Super nice guy, let me go at 500 over when fully adjusted.

The OOS if cited is the bigger issue. Don’t worry about the weight violation, just pay up and learn the lesson.

Thank you all for your comments. Of couse the truth and not attacking were much appreciated and shows me that there are still good people in the world that are willing to help, support, and each one teach one. Instead of tearing others down. Mistakes are made by all, as we are human.

    REO6205 and Moosetek13 Thank this.

I hate the excuse that we 'are only human'. And mistakes are only worthwhile if they are learned from.

You two both need to slow down and take the time to do things correctly.

Write on your hearts (Both of you) that Mr CAT will get his money and you will have a load that's legal before you go anywhere after loading. Every time you load at a shipper, you cat that tractor trailer.

I was a married team for a while until around 9-11 and found that if the spouse has a problem and had enough, we logged her out and I logged in before rolling that truck. If she put in say 8 hours and had to stop in nowhere Nevada near Walker Lake? Cool She put in a good workday, now its my turn. We'll have a meal in Reno prior to Donner. I'll run it while she sleeps.

But whenever we swapped we always logged. It only takes a minute.

    Now.

Stamina. If one of you cannot roll 11 hours without being falling down passout tired dead tired, there is a problem. Either in not hydrating, not eating or not resting or something else possibly medical. Try to find out what it is and fix it. Even if you stopped by the ER and have them look at it. You will find that ER's are more than happy in most cases to trace a problem if there is one for a few hours. Especially if they find out you are both truckers.

I have had incidents in the past where insufficient food or insufficient fluids for long enough created a situation where the brain goes off line. Down you go. The last time that happened there was a Trauma Nurse with us in our Line for a activity or some such and recognized I had a medical issue that needed looking at. Got a gallon of slush drink and had me working on that before lifeflight to ER. ER patched me fast with Fluids and food once the blood panels came back along with the other symptoms and vitals. I had not eaten that day and did very little fluid. So it worked out well. And not in the truck at 80 on the interstate. It would have killed people.

You will find that most have something good. And there are a few who are insisting on being bad. TTR is pretty savvy at finding out the bad ones and throwing them out. But once in a while if you ask a question and it's your fault, you will be told that nicely here. And why. Not something people want to hear sometimes. Trucking is really a big deal and very easy to screw it up.

    Good luck.

    Sisbro and Drivermami Thank this.
