I bought mine on ebay for $400 new was about $1200. It's a freedom marine 25. It will run everything I have. Comes with a controller in the cab too. Check out motor home sites it's that same kind they use. It's mounted under my bunk. image.jpg

I finally decided on a Honda 2000w generator. It powers a portable electric heater for the bunk and the block heater.

I am very intrigued by the RV device though.
I already have a 3000 W inverter that I do all of my cooking with and charging of various devices.
    Happy motoring guys.

That's really a good setup. If I could recommend one thing though, you have the room for 2 more 45 degree angle supports, I would weld them to the inside of the vertical angle irons. Not too excited about the welds surviving long term on the outside flange of the verical angles; all that vibration.....

Currently I have air cooled diesel generator.
Lot of them were used in emergency response squads decades ago. Got my from local sale for $250
One thing I don't like is the noise. Because generator is air cooled you can't wrap it in enclosure an keep temperature low. My friend gave me his Kubota water cooled engine and now I'm working on new project. It will be something like Kubota X Gen Diesel generators so it can fit available room on frame.

I have 2015 volvo 670, my fifth wheel does not slide, a large generator wouldn't fit on frame. I was thinking to get westinghouse igen 2500 and mini split ac, any ideas how many btu this gen would run comfortably? How many btu ac is enough for a truck since isolation is very good? Thanks

2500 generator is a bit small. look for 3500 - 4000 as split system start power peak about 3500. Keep in mind all generators are overrated. The real long term power is less about 25%
    My split system 9000 BTU.
