I'll have a hard time pulling the trigger on an auto. Even if it's warrantied, the down time and hassle would be really depressing.

I dont see the fascination with them, the only guys that seem to like them are new drivers and the corporate pukes that count beans all day, . i feel like it takes so much control away from you as a driver, i dont like to drive it thru bad weather i never know if its gonna break traction because it shifts so much and turn the jake break on high it will automatically drop 2 gears to 2200 rpms, incredibly unsafe going down a slippery mountain out west, ive driven alot of different tractors and equipment outside of being a truck driver and been in some death traps but was never scared of being an operator until they give me this truck

    LOL

I've only driven one modern one and that was about two years ago. Took it to Flag and back. What really freaked me out was the way it took off, and took corners. I was like wtf? Can't believe there aren't more crashes like that, and i'm sure that's why people haul ### through truck stops.

I think it might be ok for city work. I've snapped my wrist twice, and when I took care of Dad and did a lot of local, like 70 hour weeks, all that shifting had my wrist talking to me. Especially the 13 speed.

I don't know anything about them though. A 10 speed just doesn't have that many parts. If you don't beat it, typically it won't beat you.

It would be hard for me to put my faith in an auto in the snow.

Yes but in manual mode it cuts off the power , i cam omly hit 50 mph in 12th gear, my company has choked the thing to death

Manual mode still does not give you clutch control for moving at low speeds while parking or getting into or out of a dock on ice.

I felt the same way you do until my last knee surgery. It was either buying an automated or quit driving truck. Took awhile to get used to it but now it is just fine. At least my truck I can use manual mode and it has power or economy mode works nice. I'd hate to have a mega neutered model. I don't use engine break in auto mode that #### just doesn't work worth #### it is like you said. Overall it is a great driving truck and it keeps me running. Plus side is I'm getting 7.7 mpg that includes going over Donner couple times a week. Although I never haul over 19,000 in the box or flat.

Oh forgot the worse part is nothing to rest my right hand on

I was anti auto until I got one of the new Endurant 12 speeds mounted to an X15. Totally changed my mind. #### thing shifts as smooth as a car. You may give it a look on your next truck. The driver who went into it is an old hand manual only type of guy and he loves it. Food for thought anyway.

Endurance is what I'm wondering about as well.

Jury is still kind of out on that.
