Not yet. I tried to apply for a driver position with Brown Bottling Group (Pepsi), but when I put that I do not have my CDL (yet), i.e. I clicked on "no" on the online application, it wouldn't let me proceed any further. I called Brown Bottling Group, and they told me to apply AFTER I obtain my Class A CDL, so that is what I am going to do.

Good deal. It's enough local work around here so You don't have to go over the road. I drove otr for years but now I'm a local driver. I work 12 to 14 hour days but I'm home every night

hey CDLman, well its almost been a year now and i was just wondering how its been going? Starting with school, did it get easier, pass on 1st try, was going to the jr college necessary or a short term like TDI training center be ok (how much did it make a difference since companies usually 'school' ya on their ways and most learning gets done when on the road). Also, who did u sign on with and r u satisfied, pay (cpm), DM, FM , Dispatch, overall management? What did u like about process, what not liked? R u glad u chose trucking as a profession? Thanks for taking time and honest answers. I know alot of quesions! I'm down in Gulfport, haven't started cdl process yet and want to go in with eyes wide open. Hear of any more 'good' compaines down in southern part of state. Appreciate, in advance, your insights and opinions. Ps. Did u train on standard, auto or both. R u happy overall, money, home time, truck, miles etc. Wishing you the best man, be safe, stay healthy. Peace! GC

I'm a flatbed trucker of 10 months looking to expand from current job. Any suggestions near Jackson or Hattiesburg surrounding areas? Looking to do regional 5 out 2 off or local?

Ashley Furniture runs a lot of freight out of MS. I’ve not had a chance to speak with any of their drivers though.
