Anybody witness the fiery crash in Denver involving a trucker?

nor size as well. so zip it up your fly, stop trying to impress us with what you not know of...

i have driven brand new trucks and very old trucks, in fact, i been down nearly all the mountains in Colorado, with trucks that HAD NO jake brakes.....how about them apples.>??

it's the experience level of the driver that matters....

as well of course, proper maintenance. that truck could have had manual slack adujsters or automatic.

we do not know as of yet, but a quick pull off at the brake check area would have been advisable, again, if he was even taught that stuff.

driver neglect maybe, driver ingnorace maybe....

but an old truck...??

that was a very discriminatort statement from you..so much so, then by your words, that means no one over the age of (what is good for you)....30...?? should not be driving anymore cuz they "are old"..????

and only "new drivers" should be behind the wheel....at all times....??

like perhaps i suggested about this guy..who most likely DID NOT KNOW how to handle this situation..???????

Since we're all just guessing here, I might as well throw mine in.

Looks like brake fade. He saw the sign saying there was only a little over a mile left. He decided maybe he could stay off the brakes and maybe they would cool off. He wasn't expecting the traffic jam up ahead going into town. Bam.

He lost his brakes coming down the mountain.
Drove right past the escape ramp.
Probably didn’t even know what
It was.

Some guy in a 4 wheeler got him
On video.
Screamed out his window telling him
To slow down.
He lives out there.
He knew that truck was going way to fast.

Google maps or Waze would of informed him of what was ahead. Not that he should of ever relied upon it or even attempted, with no traffic jam ahead, to run out an out of control truck. But it would have made his decision back at the emergency ramp a given necessity, which should have been his conclusion either way.

 

No, that was higher up the mountain apparently. He did not seem to have lost brakes at that point, though he was most certainly driving unsafely. He was not overtaking traffic, which he should have on that slope.

However, running that fast downhill with a load, he could easily have fried his brakes between there and the accident site. Especially if they were already partly fried.

I'm sure there will be more on this but I have to roll. Lunch is over.

 

And your decision would have been to check a freakin app while out of control and burning down a mountain? This statement is more troubling to me than the guy who stupidly tried to ride it out. At least he was on the hot seat when he made his horrible choice.

 

Of course not, you need to have it set up and mounted before you begin your trip, just like your trucking GPS.

 

Lord,lord, time to just park the truck if I think I need an app of any king or even a gps to do my job, sheesh.
