CFI is not a great company they claim. First off, I was assigned a dirty truck. They claim to be dog-friendly but the safety director hates dogs. They do not allow your dog in any of their buildings, not even the shop. I thought that was odd. My 5th wheel release was so hard to pull I had to get help. When I called the shop they had no answers for me. I finally after a couple of weeks getting it fixed by just spraying some oil on it. It's next to impossible to get any kind of help over the phone. They keep you out way longer then they tell you in orientation. They charge you a fee to have per deim taken out. They charge 50 dollars a week for the dog and 27.50 a week for equipment. After 10 weeks they fired me 1500 miles away from home on Good Friday. Told me to call someone to come and get me. I drove their truck 658 miles from NC to the terminal in Memphis TN where I met my husband. I was falsely accused of running red lights and speeding. I sped once or twice going down a steep hill. I slowed it down as soon as it was going too fast. No tickets no accidents. It was all based on their forward facing camera. I ran yellow lights not red ones. No tickets no accidents. I didn't like a lot of their policies, for example, no bobtailing out of the terminal in Joplin to go eat or shopping you had to ride a shuttle bus. I had to hang out in my truck because they would not allow my companion dog in the building. I wasn't going to leave her alone in the truck to sit in the driver's lounge. They have no refrigerators in the trucks no APU units, just a bunk heater. But they don't allow you to idle the truck for your dog's comfort. So when it's hot out what are you suppose to do. I liked their customers. And the fleet managers are good people. The safety director is a cold-hearted ex-cop. It was such a waste of time going down to Joplin MO to drive for them.
CFI is not as good a company as they think they are.

1, have them send it threw the messaging system, and stop talking to them over the phone, that u are fired.
2, Tell them that since I'm no longer an employee of the company, this is where I'm parking the truck and trailer, that I'm no longer legally able to drive the truck and trailer.
3, take pictures of the messages, so if they put vehicle abandonment on ur dac, u can sue them for liable, pain and suffering of u/ passenger/ pet due to idle policy, and have it removed from ur dac. O dont forget to take pictures of the truck and trailer before u leave, just in case they try and get u for damage.
1 or 2 things will happen. They will with draw the firing, or it will stand.
This is why u need a cushion to cover the cost of getting everything home, including urself and companion/s, from where ever u are in the country.TxFLdino57, DoubleO7, Metallica88 and 1 other person Thank this. -

This doesnt sound like a company problem more like the problem was the driver......no dogs in the buildings or in the shop??? Ummm the better question is why would an animal be allowed in any building or workplace unless it is a service animal? U assigned a dirty truck because thats what companies do , its no different than getting a dirty apartment or anything else thats been used before you.. Itspart of the game... If u really were falsly accused of running red lights when u say u werent, but there opinion is based upon what they see on the camera, well if u think its a false accusation then how come they most likely have video saying otherwise? Trucking is a #### game sometimes esspecially if ur new but if ur just starting out u need to suck it up and get some experience so u can get with a better company who doesnt micromanage, but alot of this stuff u are complaining about is just common sense

I was fired for something that caused no problems or damage, no tickets, or anything. They could have brought me in for a safety video or put me on probation or something less drastic. I could have learned from my mistakes and not done them again. Whatever. I have a way better company to work for now. They pay more, and care more about their drivers. Better trucks, better loads, better support for me while I am out here.free spirited1, deathB4decaf, Metallica88 and 3 others Thank this. -

Shake the dust off the feet and go, be happy.
Arf will be settled in soon enough, don't stress the bad outfits.
Part of the situation like dirty trucks, well you house clean them. Its your truck now. Truckers are slobs unfortunately. And sometimes usually infectiously dangerous. You have to go over everything in a truck issued to you so that you can be sure it's disinfected, clean orderly and able to support your pet.
Certified Freaking Idiots will just have to muddle along with less motivated drivers than yourself. -
The deposit is fair IMO, I would rather drive a truck that's been smoked in for years than one that's had a dog in it. Some dogs have dander and B.O. that doesn't go away, and the only way to get rid of it is to reupholster the whole truck or find a driver who either has a dog or doesn't care about the smell.
If you find a company that is truly pet-friendly, good job. It's bad enough out here for a human, why make a dog suffer?85Carbonlight, skyviper73, nredfor88 and 4 others Thank this.
