Fired on day 2 of a new job?!?!?

    That's a hell of an idea! (Said from the perspective of an employer who provides healthcare to employees at no cost to them) That is going to come across the wrong way; I value my employees very much and pay them all that I can. We have a small company with 2 full time employees, not including my wife and I, and they have been with us since we started in 2008. Employees should realize though that every dollar they make costs us around $1.30.

    In other words, you could double their pay and keep 30% more in your own pocket if you just paid them for the work they did and let them take care of their own "benefits"...win-win. Personally, I'd rather have the money and the freedom to do with it as I please...for example, to buy an insurance policy that works best for me, as opposed to the one easiest on my boss's pocket so that he gets to say "I provide insurance to my employees".

    Side note, in the pre-Obamacare days, I was working for a company that would pay $35/week extra to anyone NOT taking their insurance. I found I could buy the exact same policy (same company, same coverages, same deductibles) for $20/month less than they'd pay me to not get the policy through the company. I also found a policy that worked better for me in my situation at the time for half the price.

    Like I said, I'd rather have the money and choose for myself how it should be spent.

    Yeah, you gotta remember this... If you only have 1 or 2 trucks... whoever you hire makes up 50-100% of your work force. Make sure you pay them accordingly. Yes - you took the financial risk, but if you can't attract and keep a top talent, you're going to get stuck with POS drivers that couldn't get on with a Mega....

    So make sure you are over compensating your single employee because chances are you aren't offering much in the way of other benefits.

    No you wouldn't.

    What WOULD happen is real professionals.......( those with a professional attitude that do a good job because ingrained in them)......might learn to drive a truck. But as for you slackers and mouth breathers that think they can flip and switch and be a professional, you just find something else to whine about.

    Everyone gets what they deserve and that includes your paycheck

    ....or...... so the driver can't sign on and get a $1,000 pair of glasses and $5,000 of dental work in the first week then quit, leaving the employer with higher premiums. Just sayin'
