Yeah it does I'm not sure if he had it installed on there to have a side kit or he bought that trailer somewhere else but he screwed that trailer up pretty darn good... He's a fairly new driver too he's got a 19 series number.

That's veterans day. Memorial day is about those that didn't come home.

Legal requirement? I'm seeing a lot of loads in southeastern PA & NJ now that say in the load notes:
DRIVER MUST PERFORM AND LOG A SPOTTED
LANTERNFLY INSPECTION PRIOR TO LEAVING THE
SHIPPER
I wonder if this is something the surrounding states DOT is expecting or just a Mercer requirement? Nothing I read in the SLF training said there was any such requirement, although it could be required by a state. If so I think it can only be required on intra-state shipments. So far I haven't seen any type of enforcement of this, but maybe they'll do it doing RoadCheck and other inspection blitzes so they can catch a large number of drivers unaware, uneducated, and misinformed.Rickp and back street slider Thank this. -
It became a requirement about 2 weeks ago if you're unloading or loading in eastern PA. Per the state government.

Any time I drop a loaded trailer I put dunnage under dolly legs.... They just sent a message out a couple weeks ago regarding leaving loaded trailers unattended...

I know the difference, I wasnt referring to all veterans. I was referring to those who willingly gave their life.thaistick Thanks this.

You misunderstood my question. I am well familiar with the permit requirements. I was referring to the part about logging the inspection before leaving the shipper. The rule is from the Pa Dept of Agriculture who as far as I am aware has no authority over our HoS recording requirements. There are very few things that have a regulatory requirement to make annotations on our logs, the majority of those that drivers make are optional.
And the training may be from PA but the rule itself applies to most of southeastern PA and parts of MD, DE, NJ, and VA. -
Ok & how's any of that effecting you?p608 Thanks this.
