Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

I’ll second that. A Crown is well worth the money, and is the only brand besides a Lift-Rite I’ve seen hold up to the LTL business for long.

 

Here at my place, that’s impossible due to our lifetime bids, unless you simply get pulled off a run because you flat out suck at it. That’s rare, but it does happen.

When any new runs are posted anyone can bid on it, city or linehaul. Your seniority is applicable either way.

Seems to me we do things WAY different than most freight lines according to what I’ve read over the years, and I’m nearly 15 years into my employment at my first company of this type, so I must admit things that most guys would find completely normal do come as a bit of a shock to me.

 

I have a Lift-Rite that I’m using now. It was my first pallet jack when I came off nights. It’s been a pretty solid tool. Only problem is the forks are 7” wide, as opposed to the 6” of a Crown. That can bite you on 4-stringer pallets.

 

I love the ones with nearly solid bottoms like Sakrete gets shipped on.
