    That might have something to do with it. From what I am learning, if it isn't in writing on the contract, they can't or won't do it. Hell, based on what I read, they can not make us work more than 12 hours a day. So if you are two hours out and came in at 5 AM, you have a right to stop what you are doing at 3 PM and head back to clock out at 5 PM regardless what was left in your trailer.

    And again, per writing, everything comes up twice a year for bid and the seniority rule of 366 days applies.

    It is bizarre.

    You talking about the slims that are too low for your pallet jack into? Or the ones that have a solid one foot wide block in the center, so you realistically can only move with a forklift?

    I think he's talking about the ones where there's no difference between the top and the bottom--full slats all the way across. Some of these pallet designers need to be introduced to the concept of a pallet jack.

    Yeah, but @road_runner is right as well. That sort of crap is the reason I’m not in any big hurry to take out one of our newfangled electric pallet jacks.

    Only one time I used an electric one was to move 10 pallets of beer down a 48. And they were lend to us by the brewery.

    Electric jacks make short work of those POS skids.

    Aww, man! It's a full-slat skid...

    whirrr....crack....POP

    Now it moves! Someone pick up those splinters, please.

    In the world of pallet designers, we all have forklifts in our trailers. I've even had customers asking me where my forklift was.

    Oh duh, left it in the passenger seat of my cab... Be right back.

    Oh yeah... Get a running start with those and they will chug on until there is nothing left but the freight and the top layer of pallet that it sits on (or what is left)

    I won't argue that.

    Sure, unless it’s a 4-stringer skid as well. :confused::eek:
