I was adopted. I have no idea what hoops you would would have to jump through in this day and age, but from my perspective it is worth considering if you have the inclination.

I can’t take CQB. Even though it’s supposed to be THC free I don’t want to get popped on a random drug screen.

There's a little more these days - but not insurmountable. Being deemed 'worthy' by different entities.

Kudos @Oxbow - I try to remember others have much different circumstance before dwelling upon my own. I could never imagine the difference having not walked that path.

Doesn’t show much. I’ll see if I can get a better pic tomorrow.

We were told the Mrs, shouldn't and couldn't have kids. Was looking into everything and both thought adoption was the way we were gonna go. Then blammo she was pregnant. But I think its a good thing, except they make it very hard for average working class people to adopt from what I see.

I became a father at the ripe old age of 21. Hell, got married when I was 19.

The 17 years I've been a parent have been interesting to say the least. When my daughter called me a "cool dad" today I couldn't imagine why she'd say such a thing. Without writing a long dissertation as to why, I'll just leave it that I've always been stand-offish with children.

For example, when my sister and nephew (who is..uh..3?) came up to visit a few weeks ago I more or less ignored the little fella's existence. Uncle of the Year award, I know.

Anyway, the relationship I've had with my daughter has been more akin to how a curmudgeonly teacher deals with students, but without the willow switch. She has an odd definition of cool.

That's why you're cool. You give her her space without even realizing it but discipline when necessary.

  11. Wow this was a deep couple of pages.

Spent a somber day with wife's family who lost the eldest daughter her niece. Her brothers kid.

It's a late night, gonna step out and let you all enjoy your conversation.
