Menards. The one by Omaha isnt too bad, but if you've live loaded them it takes 4 hours minimum and alot of thinking to strap down. Bring lots of straps

 

How about Menards period? Some of the individual stores may not be so bad, depending on where you are in the country, but the DCs...bump all of them.

My particular source of ire was the DC up outside Holiday City (or Montpelier, depending on who you talk to), OH. The one back there off the end of CR-15, just below US20 and just above the 80/90 toll road. Yeah, that...place. Each and every time I went up in there I was never out of there in any less than six hours. (To that DC's credit, though, they did have designated overnight parking on site.)

Here's the major problem: first, you get sent to (the line to wait to get into) the treated lumber yard, where you hope the forklift operator has even half a clue what he's doing. Some did, many more had not the foggiest. Then after futzing around with all that, you get sent back up to the front, to the warehouse (that you passed en route to the treated lumber yard) to get the steel and metal products put on. Then, after futzing around with all that (and hoping it doesn't rain bcuz otherwise you're tarping before you pull out of there), you gotta drive back over toward the treated lumber you just left from, because that's where the scale plate is. If you're over gross, you first have to go back to the warehouse and have them take the stuff off, then go back over the treated lumber yard and have them cut packs there--because they are adamant that they will NOT cut anything steel or metal. So you can see how much time all this can take.

And somehow, that wasn't even the worst thing about that place...but I'll save that for another day. I'm just glad I ain't got to deal with their behinds anymore.

 

I guess it pretty much depends what you're hauling. I've dropped there and been out in less than 1/2 hour and live unloaded less than 2 hours. I liked going there.

 

I guess I should qualify my experience...I last dealt with Menards DC sometime early 2014, but it consistently sucked back then. I'm glad you had a much better (& quicker!) experience...seems they've hopefully improved their processes since then.

 

I'm sure it was more the type of delivery I was making. It was imported mouldings. No other trucks in that particular dock.

Flatbed? The last time I went to a DC, I was there for 7 hours too. In 2017.

 

C & S wholesale in Stockton, CA. This place should be AVOIDED at all costs!! First you must park on the street and walk in. You get to stand in line in the tiny receiving office 2 hours just to check in. Then you get the privilege of dealing with the nastiest, disrespectful attitudes I’ve ever seen at a grocery warehouse... even worse than the Safeway in Tracy. Three more hours of waiting to be called into a dock door followed by 3 hours of unloading time...., after which the dimwits in receiving forgot where my paperwork was and were shocked I was still there. On top of that I had another stop on the load after that, 1 pallet which they took off and told me they were rejecting it, even though it was clearly marked as “stop 2”. Typical Kommiefornia stupidity and attitudes.

 

Walmart DC Red Bluff, CA. I arrived at 930 for my 1000 am appt. I went to check in at guard shack, and they called the receiving department to let them know that their 10am appt was here. So after calling around a few departments to get ahold of someone in charge of the AG department, I got told that I couldn t deliver because no one was there to inspect the load of live flowers in a box, even though Walmart had it down for a 10am appt. Now I have to wait until tomorrow or who knows when to reschedule delivery.
