Yo Linte Loco, what's going on with ATS?

Have moved up to heavier o/d freight

I talked with a recruiter yesterday. I'm thinking of joining you and Broshears.

    How are the winter loads?
Do you all switch types of trailers for different types of loads?

    Wow
Forgot all about this thread/site. My apologies

Did my first year. Got my 4K check  Got the full check. They will take anything needed for old truck out of maintenance account.
Will get more details later when I have time. The last 2 weeks raped my maintenance account. Still ended up positive.

Long short, ended up making twice what I did as company driver take home. Spent a lot of time over the road. Had to make sure I ended up in the green. Overkill. Could have went home more, but I’m a working man I live for this crap.

In a 2020 579 for 1 year. Same deal, my weekly expenses will be $205 more. Could be worse. Well it’s a paccar auto, so I guess it is worse o_O Sad that I need help with an automatic. It changes my driving habits severely.

In Wisconsin grabbing a load. Heading to central Florida. Taking 3 weeks off. QC isn’t registering drive line. On paper logs. Only issue. Will drop it at Pete when I get there. 30 day bumper to bumper will cover that.

Don’t think the truck is communicating that fact I’m driving. The seat belt icon shows a green check mark when driving wether I buckle it or not. I’m legal, ain’t got time for them

I have my own authority and insurance and was considering flatbed. However, I don't have a trailer or flatbed equipment. Can I get either through ATS and do they have decent paying freight for an independent?

Hows it going at ATS? I'm looking hard at them and have been following yours and Roosters thread.

Do they have any system in place for new L/Os or is it AMFYOYO? Trying to flatten the learning curve from 25yrs company driver, a little less than half that flatbed hauling metal and equipment, to L/O.

What lanes do you run? I'd like to stay SE out to about TX. I live in SC.

I hired onto ATS via NC. The kind of your choice is to get into specialized Do not waste your time with the same wore out boring dry van runs.

I would have a SD122 from freightliner the You tube video shows the exact tires I had in mind, however the wheels might be for decoration rather than hauling. If that engine DD16 gives 560 HP as it claims against maybe a 13,15 or even 18 Speed. It's torque claims at 1850 should be adequate.

It's a example video intended to reveal the tires etc. These tractors tend to go for about 145,000. I might be off a little bit now.

One of the closer trucks for sale, Shreveport of all places..

Eaton Fuller Transmission Manual 18 speeds with 4 reverse gears. I think this is the overdrive model and unfortumately if the transmission is only tolerating 1850 torque, same as the engine, you need and really want to buy a transmission that will accept say 2150 pounds torque or even better a set back front axle and tolerate 2050 rpm.

There are certain things I cannot stand but I suppose once I devour everything in the manual that sit in glove box for say the satellite comm and packaging.

I think that's enough for me. I have tried to "Adopt" a nice truck and kept circling the block to this one again. You know how that works out sometime.

Truck is fine so far 25k. Changed a fuse today 30a trailer light one. Hate the turns in an auto from a stop.

No issues with ATS except load info at times. Almost never get the right contact info.

No incidents or claims. I’m still class 3. Could be lower, but I haven’t been aggressive with o/d loads. Plenty of opportunities. I’m just not gonna do one that puts me in a place I don’t wanna be. I could suck it up and knock them out to get to the good stuff, butI refuse to do a cheap load just to move up. They are coming slowly. I get a good one occasionally.

Haven’t messed with tarps much. Just did my first one in 3 months It was kinda retarded, but paid well and delivered Saturday instead of Monday

They have some good regular shippers. Decent amount of preloads. Some say SD required then you get a flat . Gotta pay attention to the load dimensions. But occasionally that is wrong also

I think I know what that means. Basically you are on your own. There is a learning curve. They will give you load options. Sometimes you have to act quick. 1 minute and a good load is gone. Someone will post some loads from a shipper and FM`s will scramble to get the offers to their drivers ASAP. If there is a great one and they are confident they will get it for you at call you ASAP and ask. Eventually you’ll figure out a system to look at the total miles and pay and quickly make a determination.

The job itself is just what you have been doing. It’s just you have to make a decision on what load you want and if the location is where you want to be for your next load.

It’s not hard at all figuring it out. $1.50 a mile vs $2.00 a mile seems like a no brainer, but if that $2.00 a mile is from Pittsburgh to NY and the other is to Macon , GA. And the NY is 40k trapped and the other is 18k no tarp..........
