Just scaling out my options.

We didnt go with OD because they wanted us to train separately for 2 weeks with a trainer.

 

Well at least your sleeper is bigger in a Pete than a freightliner.

 

Do they have driver cameras at OD? They just put them in here at RL and its annoying. They are forward facing but they have a driver facing that is currently blocked but I can see them using them in future.

 

We use peoplenet (slowly switching over to some Samsung tablet eld) and peoplenet has a camera built into some of the models. They all get covered with pro stickers or electric tape. No word on actual cameras coming around. We don't even get coached on recorded events captured by the forward facing cam. We also operate manual 10s, our new trucks are still coming standard thank god.

It is a sweet gig man. Really top notch. They provided bluetooth devices to their p&d guys so they could be hands free. I was p&d then so I got the blue parrott b450 I think it is. Was nice because you can synch it to your personal phone and the work phone we used. Really made other LTL guys jealous seeing us so far ahead of the curve.

 

I've heard all good about ODFL. We just didnt want to train separate at the time. We had many offers and this one was 5 minutes from home.. we just got a letter last night about the coaching ######## with the forward facing cam. We have 6 million accident free miles between us. We are starting the hunt for a better company.

 

I wouldn't let that bother me if you're happy, but if not, try OD again. 2 weeks sounds like a short term pain for a long term gain! I can not stress how amazing OD is. I'm a fan boy for sure. I love wearing a uniform or OD merchandise. It is all the little things, and all the big things that make me never want to work some where else again. It isn't perfect, doubt any job is, but I'm certainly happy. I hear good things about Estes, and great things about Dayton. I'd really consider OD though. Heck, look into some of those straight truck exclusive companies or whatever they are.
