CFI Driver's What's Your 20? (2017 edition)

Never do, I'm content with a day of chilling. Just bothers me when it's cancelled an hour before. But it works out I suppose.
New plan is
Pick up at noon in Portland TN.
Deliver to Joliet, IL.
Than onto Elk Grove Village, IL and taking a load to Charlotte NC.
So going from 710 miles to Texas
To 1322 going IL and NC. So meh, can't be mad I guess lol

 

Deliver in Friday. Not even gonna have a thousand miles by the time I deliver this week ... My patience is wearing thin. 4 weeks in a row!?

 

That's rough dude. I get that miles are low, but when you have someone who constantly runs like you do, they should at least hook you up with some miles.

 

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen...This is Captain Rooster speaking...we have reached our sleeping altitude of zero above sea level, it is a balmy 103 degrees at the Petrro in Eloy (but its a dry heat),
number 2 on the board so should be out of here tomorrow, and Arizona five oh are using Mustang GT's today...kinda fun seeing them pull over a muscle car...

 

Lucky you. Three weeks ago tomorrow I pulled my last load. Finally going to pick up my new to me truck tomorrow from Hammond, IN. At least I got paid to do nothing.

 

How have your conversations with your dispatcher gone?

 

Basically along the lines of "well miles are bad for everyone right now, I'll see what I can do" meanwhile my trainer was able to pull 5000 miles outa his ### last week and 700 this week. Lmao his 700 is already almost the same as what I currently have. I truly enjoy driving for CFI. And I'm gonna let this month pass and bite the bullet this month and accept it since I've had a fairly decent year thus far. But if it continues. Come January I may highly consider one of the minimum pay companies...

 

Why minimum pay? You'll have experience man, you could have alot of options. Hell, R&L and Old Dominion have #### good pay and they hook their drivers up. Don't sell yourself short dude, you have a CDL in good standing as far as I know, and after this year you'll have two years exp. You can find good work, dedicated routes get good miles even during slow times.

 

The peace of mind knowing I'll make 1250 a week guaranteed is kinda nice. And any mile over 2500 at 50 cpm I get paid extra at one company I was looking at. Idk sounds decent to me. So it's a guaranteed 2500 miles a week no matter the cause as long as you continue rolling or havent requested home time. And anything over 2500 is extra compensation
