Most drivers overthink it. Driving trucks isn't that complicated. I like TransAm and Schneider's plan and it works well or they wouldn't still be doing it for decades. 10 or 11 days with a trainer and then you're on your own. Weeks or months driving with a babysitter in the passenger seat is insulting and unnecessary. Watkins-Shepard that Schneider bought has 11 days with a trainer and it's a very successful company.

Put a CB in your truck and drive in the south. The old timers will correct your ### real fast. Youll be tenfo-in and callin out full growns in no time.

I was one of the ones that went through a drive thru CDL mill, literally 2 hours of drive time, then test time and onto the road as a owner op learning as i go, doing this for a year now and i still dont know jack #### about anything.

Yesterday for the first time i was able to one shot a back in without issues and i mean i came up eyeballed the spot, pulled up reversed and boom right into the spot without any issues. Straight as a ruler.

My goal is maybe one day i can operate a CDL Mill but if i do it and I’m OCD i would have them take a English test, an aptitude test, a pee test, and maybe even a personality test. Some people are just too stupid and too aggressive to be behind a wheel.

My first real company was a union and they put me And two other people in this training that they had and pay us 15 an for 8 hours a day all we did was drive around the state and back in to small tight little warehouse we would later deliver to and let us experience the road without having to be in a hurry and let us get comfortable behide the wheel for six whole week without having to deliver a load or team drive just plan driving in different kind of environments and times

Do they also do yard time or is it straight to the truck with your trainer? My brother in law said Schneider drivers liked their training and the company. They weren’t training students in my area, but that could have changed.

CBs are essential to truck driving :) I don’t know how anyone drives without one.

Oh and when you stay down south long enough to not be called #### yankee anymore then you are accepted.

As far as training it's really simple. I am a very bad back seat driver. If there is nothing for me to growl at doing right, you are on your way to your own truck.

One thing I do miss is the small harmless games on the trainee.

Here is this logbook go back and check that seal number. So they start walking back, release the service brakes gently and allow the trailer to roll back less then their walking speed. It should take about a minute to two before they put 2+2 together.
