Well the marriage has finally ended...I just couldn't take it no more...I could no longer lay on my bck and get scrd...and just lay there and pretend I didnt mind...

I finally had to take that final step and move on....it's not truckings fault...I just changed over the years...and now I want to get into something totally different...like entertainment...I'm serious...like the comedy zone...which I called today...

The company left is a decent company....but destiny is leading me elsewhere....
I don't know what's going to happen next...like someone who leaves a mate who was providing for them in the very basic ways...

Fate will determine that...but I feel I must re invent my life...start anew...
Only time will tell what will come of it...but at least I will have tried...

I first got my cdl back in 1997....I've had it for what...12 years now...

I've driven maybe 7 of those years over the road.....have many good fond memories...
But it's time for me to move on now...
But a part of me will always be out there...
I still yearn to be free...just not as a driver....I can be free as a non driver...or at least otr driver...

Anyways...the company will go on with or without me...they all do...I'm but one cell in a body, and cells are constantly replaced and hardly missed or noticed...

I' am the ghostchild...I'll still be here though...you can't just through away 12 years of memory and experience...

You'll still remember most of it 20 years from now. I did.
You'll also remember the parts that stunk, so no remorse.
Seeing how much worse things are now than then, I hate to imagine how
bad it could be in 20 more.

To be honest with you I should of walked away 3-4 years ago...and I did...but circumstance brought me back for a short while...
But now...there's no more left in me...I just havent the tolerance for being snatched away from my home, or place of residence...just to sit somewhere else.

I did not want to spend this summer out there....

Now if they ran me like they use to...when I was with Werner back in the late 90's and early 2000's....I could stomache it...cause back then...Werner would run you literally all over the country...as a solo driver...
I mean you could leave miami...and end up in Seattle a week later....

That kinda driving no longer exists for solo drivers...now everything is regional...
You see the same routes over and over again...like a long boreing commute...

All I would of seen this summer is I-95 and Jessup or I-81....or I-78....and the Scranton, PA area...and Jersey....I can only take so much of that...

I'm originally from the great Pacific NW...WA State...and I like to get out that way every now and then...but now days as a solo driver...forget it...it's Jersey jersey jersey...

I tried to hang on for as long as I could...and I left in a responsible manner...continued on next post...

Believe it or not...I want to get into comedy now...I'm going to attend a comedy zone workshop....where they teach you the ins and outs of the business....
I just need to try something different...re invent myself...pretend I'm just getting out of high school and start afresh....

As a whole...I view truckers the same way I view guys in the military...they, we, have, had, a thankless job...a dangerous job, a nessicary job....and maybe if I get on stage and become something...I'll always give credit to truckers at the beggining or ending of my shows...time will tell...

At least after being bombarded with threats of JERSEY and the NE, he still has a sense of humor left!

Yes, your right...but if money were all I wanted, or needed, I'd go get a hazmat tanker job here....

It's about more than the money, with me at this stage of my life.
It's about quality of life, personal fulfillment, challenges, people your around, and being in an enviornment where other opportunities can open up with just one phone call...

Trucking will always be there, other opportunities won't...and so I just want to dabble in something else for a while, while I still got the inclination, will and spirit to do so...maybe it'll work, maybe it won't, but I'll sure meet a lot of fun interesting people along the way...
