Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

I think they guarantee us 8 hours of regular pay, regardless of hours worked. Some guys do a two hour run where they drop an empty and pick a loaded.

 

What's funny is some people come in and expect a 2-3 hour turn and burn and score a full 8 hours of pay. Then once they bump the customers dock, there is some kind of major issue (not loaded, computer won't work, 15 trucks ahead of him) and it turns into a full blown 7+ hour ordeal and they just end up working a regular day.

 

Well guys. Today is the official calendar day where I passed my 30 punches and the additional 30 days of probation that I needed. I am on time, don't bring back much freight, and I managed to not break anything or run over anyone. It was enough for management to keep me around.

I have a signed letter in my hand stating I am now fully hired by USF Holland. I think I am going to do another company profile write-up like I usually do. Just a neutral perspective of what it's like working there.

 

Yes. All politics aside, I have agreed to accept the position despite having to be part of the union.
