My truck sounds sad at low rpms. She sounds like a jet at high rpm. I’d rather drive a jet.
They did turn it up to 450 hp, I’ve never driven a c12 turned up to 450 but I guess it’s the max they can go safely and it’s got a half million miles on it and it still runs good, the truck I drive is the shop’s baby. It’s my company’s first Pete from way back when and it was a huge deal for them when they got it they were telling me so I try to take care of this truck. They’re always telling me how stoked they were when they finally could afford a Pete, now it’s all Pete’s and western stars.

What makes it a piece of junk there Driver ?
FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
I know t680’s are weaker trucks with those paccars but I think there’s something wrong with the one you were assigned. Maybe the engine is tired. I’ve went up 18% grades with mine now no way would I stop on those grades cause she’s not moving after that but I’m pretty sure that’s any of these fleet specced Aero trucks have this issue too.

My Paccar is 510hp and 1850 torque. I like it. Pulls good at legal weights and gets good fuel economy. I run mine 1100-1400 rpm, rarely go over 1500 rpm under any circumstances.

this blue 2006 international eagle is what i am covering most of my farms with, every farm except the 3 that include one farm with a difficult driveway that i really need a day cab for. i do enjoy driving this truck. she's got a 6NZ cat engine and a 13 speed. i have nothing against an old truck, i just cant stand a badly running truck. the lead mechanic pulled an empty trailer with that day cab and said it was a dog. every driver in our company that has driven that truck has said the same thing.
Fuelinmyveins and Lepton1 Thank this. -
the camaro parked next to the truck is my daily driver. badly worn paint but runs strong.
Fuelinmyveins and Lepton1 Thank this. -
If so, ask them if it might be possible for them to meet you at a stop you will be leaving heavy from, so he can drive it for himself.
If it's as bad as you say, and he is an experienced driver, after driving that part of the route you complained about, he will hopefully agree with you that the truck has issues, and needs service. Probably starting with an oil sample and dyno.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
when i left work the day cab was gone from the yard. maybe they went back to kenworth with it? the story is this truck was acquired by the company when it was brand new. the shop did a PM on it once and apparently made changes in the PCM they shouldn't have. the truck has a new reman engine, original engine failed a little over 300K. i doubt its a mechanical problem, i think the problem lies in the PCM tuning. yesterday i drove that truck for awhile and typically the boost does not exceed 30 PSI (should be around 40 PSI) and the boost builds slowly.

i really do like the international. its a solid running old truck, the best kind..... i still have to use that daycab some of the time.
i wonder how long ins processing will take on my usual truck. i have heard these things can drag on for a long time.
