So the price has gone up? LOL. My pal with the Volvo runs team with his bride. So after getting the truck back on the road, he did the only sensible thing: traded it for a new one. At the time the old one went down, it was at about a million miles and he knew he was well past the sell by date when it crapped the bed. He says the new one will be different since he's gonna get rid of it sooner and let the next owner buy the transmission.

 

Haven’t seen that for a while. It was a rarity when a kid - you know, 8pm bed time and all.

You know this whole thread about relaxation techniques, and my remark about buying a hug, made me remember something I seen on the news a few months ago. There's a farm in the finger lakes region of NY that will let you cuddle with a cow for $75 an hour. I figure a couple folks here that have that available for free might sense a business opportunity.

@blairandgretchen I think you mentioned this load you're running finishes up near there. You could take one for the team and see if that gets your head straight.

 

Trust me it was every bit as clean inside and out as it seems by that one pic. I think they were asking 15 or 16k for it.

And if I wanted to, I'd be allowed to have one where I work now.

 

Been a few moons now, but when I was towing I was told you could get a reman I shift trans for 26k. They dont repair, just replace.

 

That would be worth it regardless of engine. It would make money cheap. You see another let me know. Prefer a Big Cam. Were do you guys find some of these. I watch craigslist and truckpaper. They either have junk, or way over priced junk mostly.

 

To me the only drawback was low flow cooling. Everything else was perfect. And I find most of them on Facebook. I never have any luck on anywhere else anymore for the obscure old school stuff.
