70 miles?
I did 4 times that today, never took the required 30 minute break because frankly I don’t give a #### about that, and ran inside to punch out as soon as I got back into the yard to keep from going into a log book. Now THAT’s a scofflaw.![]()

Old school 379 diagram attached, if you want to print it it should be 2x3 feet big to properly read. I attached the same detroit diagram you had only in pdf so you can blow it up bigger. Cab harness also attached. The circuit you are looking for is not labeled on the cab or chassis diagram as it was an add on circuit.
So the park brake circuit also does neutral safety and hood tilt for opti idle. Park brake is located rh upper of steering column, accessed from lower kick panels. There may be up to 3 park brake switches, (high idle, fan on with park brake, and DRL). Idle park brake should be circuit 524. Wires then exit out behind the glove box, across the top of the firewall and down to the frame ahead to the tilt switch then back to the trans to the neutral switch. Reverse switch is behind the shifter, neutral in front of it. Switches are wired in series and carry a ground signal to the ecm. The wire that goes to the ecm comes out the normal engine harness plug in the top left of the firewall. On the older trucks if the customer has no use for opti idle, we would bypass the neutral and hood tilt and just run a park brake circuit.

Well I'll get called liar for this, buy pop's was easy on the pedal. Seen his joints go a million miles. Now he had no issue with grossing 100-150k running small and big cam. 5/5.5 mpg pulling doubles, but seen 7 pulling spread. Had no issue making it boogy once in the hi side. Them 855 Cummins of his always had that choppy idle like the KTA. But in his game back then it helped being light. Guess that's why they called him Mr. Shinny Wheels. He was a sick sob that was meticulous with mantaince, didnt drive hard, but expected everything out of a piece of equipment. Some day I'll have a big cam, just to replace that childhood memory of that sick SOB's cab shaking back and forth. Thank god he didnt drink coffee.1951 ford, Zeviander, exhausted379 and 12 others Thank this. -
