So the wheels of fate started turning and quite rapidly. I have mixed emotions as I start a new chapter in my life. I'm excited and looking forward to the opportunity that has presented itself, but I love Mercer and miss it already.

I got a job offer to move into heavy hauling, something I've really wanted to do anyway, but I believe timing is everything and it just wasn't the right time and I have been very happy here. A few days after the offer, my truck started acting up, so I took it as a sign and did some research, but was still a little hesitant. Then later that same week, I got a cash offer out of the blue to buy my house, that wasnt for sale, at about $20k over what I would have sold it for.

Yesterday was my last day with Mercer and today I start my journey towards super loads.

Back in the 70s this is what I was doing.

Then I bought my first truck and went OTR with a flatbed. My plan was to get a few years OTR then get back into the big stuff.

I soon decided that "for me" I didn't want to combine the BS of heavy haul with the BS of OTR. Leased onto Mercer and spent almost 30 years there.

Wishing you the best @Razorwyr as you start in a new direction.

Yeah, I gave Mercer notice and left on a good note with them. If this doesnt suit me, I will be back, but I love doing oversize, I think I will really like the big stuff

Yes they are. But there is always a forklift or crane right there to lift them. The only time I lift them is to put them in the box

4 1/2 years, half my trucking career... man it's still weird to say that, but I'm excited for the possibility. I want to be the ####### that shuts the interstate down because the space shuttle I'm hauling is too wide and too tall so we have to stop and move every power line and sign post, then put it back.

Been there...done that...for about 10 years. Go to youtube and search for sbaumann14. About 1/2 way thru one of my vids, you'll see an F-14 we were moving. Pic is taken from my rear pilot. People were pissed that day
