Do people hate how you drive a 4 wheeler even more as a truck driver?

Hell i got pulled over by a cop about 3 am in the morning ,while i was roaming around phx looking for something to eat after getting back to the yard. Cop lit me up, he asked "why i was driving so slow". I said "i was doing the speed limit sir".
Told him im a truck driver just got back home , just got some food to eat.

He take my license ran it and come back said have a nice night driver.

I didnt even notice i was driving slow , i guess its just we get used to that 40 tons rolling or coasting thru the city and being able to keep the momentum, doesnt work in a car. Nor do the jake breaks lol those #### things get me everytime

I don't know much about horse-wrangling cowgirls. But I know you have the best avatar in the forum right now.

My mother and brothers have commented on it quite a few times. I turn wider than they like.

I've only driven for a total of 10 hours in trucking school and I already hate their guts; always taking chances to swoop right into the space you left in front of you needed to stop the truck safely right before a freaking stop light and then brake check you. Never realized how stupid some drivers are until I seen them from a higher perspective.

And the most common answer is "wife." Well, mine too. In her defense, I'm a terrible passenger but sometimes she scares the crap out of me.

She gets furious when I stomp the imaginary brake on the passenger floorboard out of reflex, and is amazed that I point out traffic situations or cops long before she sees them. Then she gets mad when I tell her she could do it too if she looked farther ahead than the car In front of her.

My wife does every stupid 4 wheeler trick known to man. 2 hands on phone hunting Pokemon CHECK....no blinker till the last 4 feet if at all CHECK.....nearly rear ending several vehicles every drive CHECK (got one about 3 months ago) hit the stone shoulder at 50 mph CHECK but I'm the problem if I take a turn a little too wide for her liking or fail to rush into a red light at full tilt then put us all through the windshield stopping.

It's absolutely cringeworthy to ride with her. On the other hand 60 hrs a week in a truck is enough driving for me.

I usually tell mine there is a hell of alot more brakes I reserve if I need them. I hate to use them right quick, those newer vehicles don't take that kind of stress too well.

Now if you stuck me into a tiny Audi or a Cooper or some similar car with the horsies and beef to back it up I turn into this hyde and jekyll and go find a set of quiet backwoods roads to wring that thing out in. My last one was a Caddy CTS two door, a relatively big car but with allowed to participate with all 4 computer functions turned on its on rails. This would be about the 2004 or so model. Just flatten your foot and the situation presented by the road and pavement does not matter anymore. Yellow speed signs are about half what you could do with it. 150 certainly with enough left to try for 200 which isnt that common in those cars.

There is one car that I found pretty good and I like it, but when you stick a suit into it they get dangerous. The older Chrysler 300 C's or M's And there lies the problem. They think they are fast.

The key word think. Which usually is not happening with them in that car.

I don't care what anybody thinks of my driving.
If they don't like it, too f'n bad!
I've driven more miles than most people ever will, 4 or 5 lifetimes for the average driver, and possess more knowledge and experience than most of them can comprehend, learned to drive in a car with a standard transmission when I was 7 years old, a lifelong passion.

A lot of my friends tease me about being a granny in a 4 wheeler, but when they ride with me they keep their mouths shut because they know that in the blink of an eye it can go from a slow casual drive with granny to a more terrifying ride than any of them would care to experience.

A lot of my friends and family were very nervous while riding in my 63 Dodge, didn't say a word about my driving or anything else, eyes straight ahead.
All I had to do was squeeze the pedal a little and they would plant their feet and stiffen up in the passenger seat, could see the stress on their faces when I punched it at 35 or 40 mph and the car went sideways with me giggling like a maniac!

I think I drive the 4 wheeler a little safer than I did before. However, I have to keep reminding myself local LEO that won't mess with you in the truck, WILL mess with you in the car.
