Interesting. How long have they been training trainees that way at CARTERSVILLE? How many students at Cartersville have left with a CDL? How long have they had a CDL examiner?

Are you telling me that you have CDL AP permit holders driving while you are sleeping?

Are you kidding me right now? For someone 3 days into his schooling yiu sure seem to think you know it all. Ive been here almost 4 yrs. Been training for over 2, but yes you know more about this company than I do.

Please tell me your name so i can be sure to tell Greg to NOT put you on my truck. Know it all students dont last very long with me or most trainers here.

Greg was the very person that told me that we get dispatched as solo not team during training here at the Cartersville facility. That's where I got the information. Maybe he told me wrong. Maybe I worded my question to him wrong. I will ask him tomorrow.

I asked that specific question, would we be dispatched team or solo during our time with the trainer. He said possibly at the end of our training we could drive team with the trainer and really rack up some miles.

As I said, now that Cartersville has a CDL examiner, maybe that will change. Possibly I'll be the first. I'm not trying to be a Smart Alec. I'm here at school. They gave us the tour. They showed us, with pride the brand new paved lot for testing. Our instructors have told us about how we may have the opportunity to test before leaving with our trainers, if we want to take that opportunity.

You said there is no teaming while on the trainers truck. Now you are saying Greg told you it may happen. So which is it? Again it is 100% up to us trainers, once you get your CDL, as to if we team or not. Plain and simple. Teaming isn't forced here like other companies, but its also not forbidden. If you get your CDl and your trainer feels comfortable sleeping while you driving, guess what? You're going to be teaming plain and simple.

I think we can both agree that Millis isn't like every other company. The post that I was responding to, the poster assumed that it was, because he/she said that it wouldn't matter because I will be sleeping while the trainer is driving and vice versa. Can we both agree this won't be the case, at least not until a good ways into the training?

Millis is a great company. That's why I picked it. I could not find anything bad about it. Students who have recently graduated and long time employees all had good things to say about the place. One of those things was about how they were trained.

We can certainly agree this company doesn't train like some other companies where snoring doesn't matter because I'm asleep when the trainer is driving and vice versa. It will matter for at least several weeks. Is that more accurate?

It may be 2 weeks before your trainer takes you to test, it may be 4 weeks. Its hard telling, but just know the trainer wants it to happen asap. Us sitting in the passenger seat having to be "on duty" is a major pain in the ### and it has nothing to do with wanting to team.

Like I said I dont team with my students. I'm awake and watching every minute they drive, but Im not "on duty" the whole time. So therefore he can drive out his 11hrs and then I can hop over drive 3,.4, 5hrs to get us more miles. Or I start driving at midnight and drive till 4 or 5 am and then the student wakes up amd drives his 11 hrs all while I'm still watching. There are alot of days out here that I put in 17+ hr days but I choose that over trying to sleep when the student drives.

And as for Millis training, no we aren't like other companies and we have 1 of, of not the best training program going hands down.

Between the pay as a student and the actual training at MTI and on our trucks I haven't seen a company yet that can beat it.
