There a re a bunch of us that stop in and read the posts.

Since I have been doing local since May it has been more of a reading up to remember why I do not do OTR anymore.

I don't have much to add to the conversation other than a side ways acknowledgement of @MagnumaMoose once in a while.

 

Kinda like that here too. I'm not currently driving and can't because of needing to be home for the folks so I don't have much to add anywhere other than a few threads. Passing of the guard situation I suppose.

 

My trip... I can say that it is going.... setbacks still happening constantly...
The last one was 2 days ago when I lost or was robbed U$100.00
I believe it happened at the money exchange store in downtown Rio.....
I have been doing business there since 1980 and never had any problem and they always offer the best price around.... so I don't even go anywhere else... but this last time I was either robbed like a sucker by the girl while counting the money or... I don't have another explanation....
Living and learning... I got my lesson.... it will not happen again that I am sure...

 

Sorry to hear that. Theft is more widespread and common now than it used to be or so it seems to me. I already said that in a conversation earlier today.

 

BTW, yesterday I took the bus all the way from Cabo Frio back to the city of Rio... over 2:30hrs.. just to confront the girl and register the incident with the manager/owner and see if there was a video camera in the room to help with a clue... and ask the cash register if they didn't find an extra hundred bucks "hanging" around...
But I knew nobody would say anything even if they knew...
Told the manager, boss whatever he was that I don't feel comfortable doing business in his store any more... which is very VERY unfortunate and psss me off again because they pay the very best price in town...
Then, I went to the 3 other stores in the area and shared the incident with them... and the price... They were amazed that store was buying for almost .20 cents more than every other store around there...

 

I think I am always soo careful with my money and documents and important things, etc... but I dropped the ball this time... it was my fault I admit... should have counted better the money that I had during and after the transaction before we both left the room... But that will not happen again...

 

Empty in Baxter tn. Soon as I can find some motivation we heading to the house.
